WIDEN YOUR MARKET – INVEST IN EXPORT –GROWTH PROGRAM IN KESKI-POHJANMAA

The aim of the growth program is to grow the knowledge of the companies located in Keski-Pohjanmaa regarding international trade and through this improve the preparedness for export and at the same time make the risk smaller. With the growth program internationalization challenges are tried to be solved that companies may face or can be predicted. With the growth program the companies can more efficiently enter the international market.

There is a lot of growth potential in the region of Keski-Pohjanmaa. For various reasons the growth is not always pursued and entering the export market is considered challenging. Aim of the growth program is to make it easier for the companies to enter the export market and courage the companies to grow and strengthen their customer base in international markets.

In the growth program there are three concrete areas.

  1. Growing the knowledge of entrepreneurs/ personnel of the companies regarding international trade. Different kind of themes are worked through in workshops with Finland’s leading experts.
  2. Pop up -offices abroad. Offices are established in the export markets for a short time period, from which together we research the market and meet potential cooperation partners and customers.
  3. Peer support from other entrepreneurs. There are also others that are in the same situation. Experiences that are shared between entrepreneurs are valuable and increase especially the experience base.

The themes of the workshops and the location of the pop up -offices are clarified in the beginning of the growth program based on a current state survey made to the companies. For the growth program 40 potential export companies are interviewed and based on these results the themes for the workshops and the markets for the pop up-offices are selected.

The growth programs main financer is Keski-Pohjanmaan liitto/European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Kokkolanseudun Kehitys Oy, Kaustinen sub-region, the city of Kannus and the municipality of Perho participate in the municipality financing. Private financing comes from Viexpo.

The growth program period is 1.5.2019 – 31.12.2020.
